Battery Issue, January 16, 2011 This review is from: Razor Pocket Mod Sweet Pea Electric Scooter Youth Helmet Bundle (Misc.) We purchased this item along with the 2 year extended warranty for Christmas in 2009. After 10 months the $50 battery had to be replaced, the battery is not covered under warranty. The battery had been overcharged. After speaking with the warranty people and reviewing the paperwork that came with the scooter, we saw that the instructions said to unplug after charging for 8 hours. Obviously, if we had read the instructions the battery wouldn't have been ruined. However, for an item this expensive I think it is unacceptable that it doesn't have an auto shutoff feature when it becomes fully charged. We have purchased two less expensive battery operated vehicles that have lasted for over 3 years and we don't unplug them after 8 hours. Don't waste your money unless you can remember to unplug it everytime it needs charging (which is pretty much everytime your kid rides it).

I purchased this last year for my daughter for Christmas and got an excellent deal on it thanks to Black Friday. The ONLY problem I have had is that I had to replace the tube for the front tire, and anyone who has changed tubes on kids bicycles knows how cumbersome that can be (harder than on my MTB or Tri bikes). I have had NO problems with the battery b/c I charge it only for the recommended amount of time. Anyone who has had a battery operated kids' vehicle knows you can leave it plugged in indefinitely. I don't know the exact amount of time you get out of charging over night (that's how I do it...plug it in when I close the garage at bedtime, and unplug it on my way to work the next morning). However, it has enough juice for my daughter to get all the time out of it she wants. constantly broken!!!, September 28, 2011 This review is from: Razor Pocket Mod Sweet Pea Electric Scooter Youth Helmet Bundle (Misc.) I have purchased two of the Razor mopeds (against my educated, better judgement....but hard to see your child not riding when all of their friends are!).
In a three year period I have bought 4 batteries $59/each), 3 tires ($13/each), an electrical circuit ($35) and fuses. They are CONSTANTLY in repair!!!
On the positive: when working my daughter and her girlfriends LOVE to ride around the neighborhood!
